Abstract
Energy and transportation are important guarantees for the improvement of production, life and economy. Highway energy system formed by the integrated development of energy and transportation is of great significance to coping with climate. However, the energy system is vulnerable under extreme harsh conditions, and its paralysis will also cause a sharp operational risk to highway system. Thus, achieving resilience in highway energy system has been a vital research field. Firstly, the characteristics between flexibility, toughness and resilience are distinguished. Thereafter, research status of resilient energy system is presented across four technologies: planning and design, risk assessment and early warning, operation and control as well as emergency response and recovery. On this basis, the concepts and features of resilient highway system and resilient energy system are presented respectively. In addition, challenges faced by the resilient highway energy system are identified. Finally, the prospects of resilient highway energy system are forecast.
