Abstract
Synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) has low cost, simple structure and high efficiency without rotor loss. However the magnetic saturation of the SynRM is serious, and its inductances in d-q axis change nonlinearly with the currents in d–q axis. For this reason, experimental method was used to measure the relationship between inductance and current, and a magnetic saturation model of the SynRM was constructed without detailed size parameters of motor. A sensorless control system of the SynRM was realized based on the model reference adaptive system. Simulation and experiment results show that the system can accurately estimate the motor speed and rotor position with good static and dynamic performance, and has strong robustness.
