Abstract
In order to fully enhance the fuel economy and comprehensive performance of a heavy-duty parallel hybrid electric vehicle, this thesis designed an energy management strategy on the basis of dynamic programming. The technique that limiting the reachable area of the battery state of charge was adopted to improve efficiency of dynamic programming algorithm. The strategy was simulated using the vehicle model established on MATLAB. The results indicate that in contrast to the rule-based control strategy, the energy consumption of dynamic programming is reduced 10.6%, which proves its effectiveness in energy saving and consumption reduction. At the same time, the calculation time of dynamic programming is effectively reduced.
