Abstract
In this paper, an improved Backward/Forward sweep method for distribution network power flow calculation is proposed with consideration of meteorological factors. In this method, the line resistance is treated as the temperature-dependent variable and an efficient method is proposed to estimate the line temperature at the beginning of the solving process. After that, the line temperature is updated by Taylor’s first-order approximation. The line temperature is used to update the line resistance in the improved Backward/Forward sweep method. The simulation analysis on several distribution networks of different sizes shows that the proposed method can improve the speed of distribution network power flow calculation when considering the meteorological factors.
